Yaskawa servo

Servo Systems and Motion ControllersServo Drives and Servo Motors
Our broad product range of servo systems includes brushless AC servo motors, digital amplifiers, linear motors, and direct drive motors. These best-in-class servo systems can be matched with single-axis or multi-axis motion controllers for a system solution with the best quality and reliability in the business.

Rotary Servo motors Yaskawa was the first company to mass produce servomotors employing a segmented stator design. This process uses individually wound stator segments that are grouped together, press fit into the motor body, and impregnated with resin. The result is improved heat transfer, dramatic reduction in motor size and cost, and the best quality and reliability available. Yaskawa has leveraged this technology to become the largest servomotor manufacturer in the world and produced the 5,000,000th AC servomotor in 2006.

The Sigma family of servomotors has taken the next technological step using high-resolution serial encoder feedback. Position information is transmitted to the amplifier allowing full error checking which eliminates position error caused by electrical noise and prevents runaway conditions. This all-digital feedback design enables the amplifier to automatically recognize the motor and optimize settings.

Servo Amplifiers
Yaskawa Sigma and LEGEND servo amplifiers have all-digital architecture with 32-bit microprocessor logic, high speed ASIC current-loop control, and IGBT power sections.
All Sigma and LEGEND amplifiers have serial encoder feedback with automatic motor recognition, expansion ports for addition of single-axis controls and network interfaces, separate main and control power connections, scalable encoder retransmission, sine-coded PWM output waveforms, full thermal overload protection of the motor, and UL, CE, and TUV certifications. Where required, Yaskawa amplifiers have built-in regenerative and dynamic brake resistors.
Yaskawa amplifiers are matched with Sigma motors with high-resolution serial encoder feedback to provide low velocity ripple and speed loop bandwidths exceeding 400 hz. These features allow very smooth motion at low speed, higher load-to-rotor inertia rations, and decreased setting time.
